Mosaic Glass: The Chili Ristra Workshop

Artist Bio:
Lisa Collins is a Fort Worth, Texas–based stained glass mosaic artist creating luminous, hand‑crafted work since 2011. Working at the intersection of traditional stained glass and contemporary mosaic, she assembles color, texture, and recycled glass into sculptural panels and installations that celebrate light, pattern, and everyday narratives. In addition to her studio practice, Lisa teaches community classes and workshops — including programs with the Woodlands Art League in The Woodlands, TX — and leads Art Parties in private homes for students of all ages. Her teaching emphasizes accessible techniques, material reuse, and playful experimentation. Lisa maintains an active commission and exhibition practice and lives and works in Fort Worth, Texas.

The class-

Southwestern Stained Glass Mosaic: The Chili Ristra Workshop
Brighten your home with a touch of the Southwest! Join us for an immersive, full-day creative experience where you will handcraft a vibrant 9"x 5" stained glass mosaic of a classic chili Ristra. Using a palette of bold reds, greens, and yellows, you’ll transform raw stained glass into a stunning piece of art guided by expert instruction.

What You’ll Learn & Create:
This workshop takes you through the complete mosaic process. In the morning, you’ll master the use of handheld wheeled nippers to cut glass and fit a predetermined Ristra design. The afternoon is dedicated to the technical finishing touches: mixing grout, applying it to your design, and final polishing.
