Scent is invisible, yet it shapes our memories, moods, and sense of self more powerfully than almost anything else. In this three-hour workshop, you'll step into the world of natural perfumery — and leave with something entirely your own.

In this 3 hour workshop, we'll begin with the story of fragrance: where it comes from, how it has evolved, and why it moves us the way it does. From there, you'll explore a curated collection of natural aromatic materials through guided smelling exercises, learning how to read a fragrance's structure and understand what makes a blend sing. Then comes the creative part — you'll experiment, layer, and refine until you've crafted a scent that feels genuinely, unmistakably you.  

Like all Merc workshops, this is all-inclusive; instruction, all materials are included in one fee.

What:  Students will create and take home a custom 10ml oil-based roller perfume, along with the vocabulary and confidence to keep exploring long after class ends.

Audra, your instructor, came to perfumery through a lifelong love of beauty, storytelling, and the natural world. A musician as well as a perfumer, she's always been drawn to the way invisible things — a melody, a memory, a scent on the air — can stir something deep in us. She teaches because she believes perfumery should be accessible, joyful, and a little bit magical, and because there's nothing quite like watching someone discover a material that stops them in their tracks.
